Terms of Service
Terms for using Homologate.
Homologate is operated by Practical Logic LLC, a Virginia limited liability company. These terms are an agreement between you and Practical Logic LLC. Please read them, including the warranty disclaimer, limitation of liability, and class-action waiver.
Effective date: October 7, 2026.
1. Who we are and agreement to these terms
Homologate, including the website, web application, Android application, shared reports, and related services (the "Service"), is provided by Practical Logic LLC ("Practical Logic," "we," "us," or "our"). "We" refers only to Practical Logic LLC as a company and not to any individual member, manager, or owner. By creating an account, signing in, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility and age
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will delete it.
3. Accounts and sign-in
You can create an account with an email address and password, or sign in with a Google or Facebook account. Authentication is provided by our infrastructure provider, Supabase, and, when you choose social sign-in, by Google or Meta. Your use of a Google or Facebook account is also governed by that provider's terms and privacy policy. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure, for activity under your account, and for notifying us promptly at support@homologate.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Beta service and changes
Homologate is currently offered free of charge as a beta. Features may change, move, break, or be removed at any time, and the Service may be interrupted, suspended, or discontinued. There is no paid subscription during the current beta. Free accounts are limited to 2 vehicles and 1 GB of storage shared across the garage. Accounts that already had more than 2 vehicles on October 6, 2026 keep the vehicles they had and may hold that many going forward. If pricing is introduced, we will notify users before any paid plan is required, and additional terms may apply.
Paid subscriptions, when available
Paid plans are optional and are purchased on the website through Stripe. The price, billing frequency, vehicle allowance, storage allowance, and applicable taxes are shown before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled through Account Billing. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period. Upgrades require successful payment; downgrades normally take effect at renewal. Only the benefits shown at purchase are included. Photos remain optimized copies; video hosting and original-resolution archival storage are not included in the initial paid plans.
If a renewal payment fails, we notify you and may retry it. New uploads and vehicle additions pause after the paid period ends. Existing paid benefits have a 14-day renewal grace period, after which the account returns to Free if payment remains unresolved. Previously stored vehicles and records remain readable and exportable; vehicles beyond the Free allowance become read-only, and you can choose the vehicles you can edit. Existing files over the Free allowance have a 90-day retention window after downgrade to allow renewal, downloading, or reducing usage. We do not delete your account or vehicle record text solely because a subscription payment failed.
Automatic excess-media deletion is currently disabled. Before enabling removal, we will provide a specific list of affected files, a removal deadline, and at least 30 days of advance notice, with a way to select files to retain within your allowance. Refunds, disputes, and suspected payment fraud may pause paid benefits pending review without deleting vehicle history. Contact support@homologate.app for billing corrections and refund requests; applicable statutory consumer rights remain unaffected. Deleting your account cancels its subscriptions before account removal. Stripe may retain billing records as required for financial, security, and legal purposes.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the vehicle information, records, photos, documents, notes, and other content you add ("Your Content"). You grant Practical Logic LLC a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, transmit, and display Your Content only as needed to operate, secure, and provide the Service to you and to the people you choose to share with. This license ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service, except for residual copies held in provider backups and logs until they expire.
You are responsible for Your Content and represent that you have the rights needed to upload and share it. Do not upload content you do not have permission to store or use, or other people's personal information without a lawful basis. You are responsible for keeping your own backup copies of important vehicle documents, receipts, photos, and records; Homologate should not be your only copy.
To keep storage efficient, photos are resized before upload, where your browser or device supports the format, so the longest edge is at most 3,840 pixels and saved as high-quality JPEG files. Embedded metadata, such as camera location, is removed; the capture date may be kept with the photo record. The stored copy is intended for documentation, sharing, and sale listings, but it is not a byte-for-byte copy of your original file. Keep your originals if you need full resolution or embedded metadata.
6. Shared reports and collaborators
Share links are bearer links: anyone who has the link can view the report until it expires or you revoke it. Collaborators you invite can see and, depending on the role you choose, change vehicle data. You are responsible for deciding what to share and with whom. Reports reflect information entered by users; Practical Logic LLC does not inspect, verify, or certify any vehicle, record, mileage, history, or document, and a shared report is not a vehicle history report, inspection, appraisal, or warranty.
7. Acceptable use
- Do not use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive purposes, including misrepresenting a vehicle's history, mileage, title, or condition.
- Do not upload malware or content that is infringing, harmful, harassing, or that violates someone else's privacy.
- Do not probe, scan, overload, or bypass the security, rate limits, or access controls of the Service.
- Do not scrape, resell, or reverse engineer the Service except as allowed by law.
We may limit, suspend, or terminate access, and remove content, if we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated or the Service's security or availability is at risk.
8. Not professional advice
Homologate is a record-keeping and organization tool. Information in or produced by the Service, including VIN decoding, vehicle specifications, recall and complaint data, suggested service intervals, maintenance reminders, cost summaries, document scanning results, and any homologation, import, registration, or compliance information, is provided for general informational purposes only. It is not mechanical, engineering, safety, legal, regulatory, tax, financial, or valuation advice, and it may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.
Always consult a qualified mechanic, the vehicle manufacturer, your motor vehicle agency, customs or import authorities, an attorney, or another appropriate professional before making decisions about maintenance, repairs, safety, purchases, sales, importation, registration, or legal compliance. Check safety recalls directly with the manufacturer or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. You are solely responsible for decisions you make and actions you take based on the Service.
9. Third-party services
The Service relies on independent third-party providers, including Supabase, Vercel, Cloudflare, Resend, Microsoft Azure, Stripe, Google, Meta, Expo, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, as described in our Privacy Policy. These providers operate their own services under their own terms. Practical Logic LLC does not control and is not responsible for third-party services, data, or websites, including their availability, accuracy, security incidents, or practices, except as required by law.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT AND INFORMATION PROVIDED THROUGH IT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT. PRACTICAL LOGIC LLC DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF DATA LOSS, OR THAT ANY INFORMATION IN THE SERVICE IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PRACTICAL LOGIC LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, CONTENT, PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, OR VEHICLE VALUE, OR FOR COSTS OF REPAIR, REPLACEMENT, OR SUBSTITUTE SERVICES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF PRACTICAL LOGIC LLC FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID PRACTICAL LOGIC LLC FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (US$50).
These limitations apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose, and they reflect an allocation of risk that is part of the basis of the bargain for a free service. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, such as liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
12. Company responsibility only
The Service is provided solely by Practical Logic LLC. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree that any claim relating to the Service or these Terms may be brought only against Practical Logic LLC, and not against any of its members, managers, officers, employees, contractors, or agents in their individual capacity.
13. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Practical Logic LLC and its members, managers, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to Your Content, your use or misuse of the Service, reports or links you share, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
14. Termination and account deletion
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Account settings on the web or in the mobile app, as described on the account deletion page. We may suspend or terminate your access as described in these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including Sections 5 through 13 and 15 through 17, will survive.
15. Governing law, disputes, and class-action waiver
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to them or the Service are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Before filing a claim, you agree to first contact us at support@homologate.app with a description of the dispute and try to resolve it informally for at least 30 days. If it is not resolved, any claim must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and you and Practical Logic LLC consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in a small claims court with jurisdiction.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AND PRACTICAL LOGIC LLC AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, COLLECTIVE, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING, AND EACH PARTY WAIVES ANY RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY.
To the extent permitted by law, any claim arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms must be filed within one year after the claim arises, or it is permanently barred. If you live in a country whose mandatory consumer laws give you the right to bring a claim in your local courts or under your local law, nothing in this section takes away those rights.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms with a new effective date and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice through the Service or by email. Continuing to use the Service after the updated Terms take effect means you accept them.
17. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Practical Logic LLC about the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages of third-party providers.
